Junior Copywriter

We are a growing creative marketing agency with a focus on architectural product companies and the building industry. We are looking for a copywriter with an interest in this industry to support the marketing needs of our clients and the agency. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating messaging for a mix of tactics ranging from taglines and headlines to long-form blogs and e-books. We work in a fast-paced market that occasionally requires irregular work hours and quick turnarounds, so flexibility is critical for success in this position. As needs arise you may be asked to help with project management or other administrative support. We are looking for a candidate who is creative, innovative and eager to become well-versed in the language of the industry. Our business is built on understanding how specifiers think, and you will have a significant role in helping us in growing that expertise.

Objectives of this Role

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times

  • Continually raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action

  • Comfortably vary voice, style, and other characteristics demanded by the company or target audience at hand

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communication and client-related industry trends

  • Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Interpret creative briefs to develop creative concepts and persuasive copy

  • Research and understand the client's needs and target audiences, through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews with subject matter experts, and in-person meetings

  • Write original, clear, and grammatically correct copy and edit content for a range of marketing and communications materials

  • Collaborate with account managers and creative staff from concept development to delivery of the final product

  • Present copy concepts and final deliverables to the internal team, and to client representative as needed, and participate in client pitches on occasion

  • Revise copy based on internal and client feedback/direction


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, English, Communications, or related discipline

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional copywriting experience with a portfolio of work

  • Exceptional writing and research skills

  • Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or Google Documents, Google Sheets, and Google Presentations

  • Self-motivated and organized

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Social media, content marketing, and email outreach experience

  • Proofreading experience and familiarity with standard style guides

  • Solid understanding of SEO concepts and experience working with content management systems (Squarespace, WordPress, etc.)

  • A keen eye for detail and appreciation of great design
